For merchants
Install in minutes. Know exactly what data is used.
Flokte acts as a service provider on your behalf. It processes your store's data only to detect return abuse — never as an independent data aggregator, and never for unrelated purposes.
Supported platforms
Shopify — now
Installs from the Shopify App Store. Flokte is going through Shopify's Protected Customer Data review before listing.
BigCommerce — next
Planned for the BigCommerce App Marketplace, subject to BigCommerce's data-access review. Not yet available.
The install flow
- 1Authorize Flokte from the Shopify App Store (OAuth).
- 2Review and acknowledge the data-use disclosure — what Flokte reads and why — before any data is ingested.
- 3Flokte backfills recent order and return history and subscribes to order, return, and customer webhooks.
- 4Configure your rules — rewards and order tags in the beta, restriction rules when they're enabled. Nothing acts on a customer until you turn a rule on.
- 5Add Flokte's disclosure language to your storefront privacy policy — copy it from the merchant disclosure page.
What data Flokte accesses
Accessed
- • Customer name, email, and address as provided by the platform
- • Order IDs, dates, amounts, and fulfillment status
- • Return IDs, dates, reason codes, refund amounts, and fault attribution
- • Coarse geography (country, region, ZIP prefix) — kept in clear only for fairness testing
Not accessed
- • Payment card numbers or bank details
- • Social media or any off-platform data
- • Street addresses on individual orders
- • Data from other merchants' stores
- • Device fingerprinting (a separate future feature with its own review)
Email is used to link a shopper's guest and account checkouts within your store so return history can't be split across identities to dodge the read. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is least-privilege internally, and retention is limited per data type. Each merchant signs a data processing agreement (DPA) with Flokte before going live.
What Flokte writes back to your store
Flokte is mostly read-only. The only writes are narrow, and each is opt-in per store:
Webhooks
On install, Flokte subscribes to your order, return, and customer events so the read stays current.
Order tags
If you enable it, each new order is tagged in your Orders list with the customer's current tier — good, watch, or flagged — with a colour dot so it reads at a glance. Existing orders are never retagged.
Reward codes
If you turn on a reward rule, Flokte creates the discount codes in Shopify for the customers it matches.
What's in the beta
Available now
- • Order & return ingestion and the return-behavior read
- • Explainable score factors, versioned
- • Tier tags on new orders
- • Loyalty reward rules (automatic discount codes)
- • The analytics dashboard
Coming — gated
- • Restriction rules (manual review, restricted returns)
- • The in-app shopper dispute form
Restriction rules ship only with a human-review path and after independent legal review of the scoring-and-restriction flow. Until then Flokte surfaces risk for you to act on — it doesn't restrict anyone automatically.
